Gallo acquires Napa Valley Vineyards

MODESTO, Calif. (May 19, 2015) - An affiliate of E. & J. Gallo Winery (Gallo) announced today it has purchased Cypress Ranch and a portion of the Palisades Vineyard in California’s Napa Valley.
The combined 642 acres are located in Napa Valley and consist of approximately 258 acres of vineyard. The vineyard produces a variety of premium red wine grapes including: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Malbec. The property also lies adjacent to the Sun Lake Vineyard farmed by Gallo, bringing the combined planted acreage to 358 acres.
According to Roger Nabedian, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Gallo's Premium Wine Division, "The purchase of Cypress Ranch and Palisades Vineyard continues Gallo's commitment to having vineyards in the premier winegrowing appellations in California." He added, "These two vineyards are a great addition to our portfolio and are key to our growth of luxury wines."
The family-owned company, based in California's Central Valley, continues to expand its presence along California's coastal regions. In March, Gallo purchased J Vineyards and Winery located in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley, best known for producing award winning sparkling wines, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Last year, the company purchased two North Coast properties totaling more than 500 acres in Solano County.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
