As a family-owned company, we believe in the importance of preserving and enhancing the land for future generations to enjoy. Co-founders Ernest and Julio Gallo laid the foundation for our commitment to the environment in the 1930’s, and it is still evident today in how we manage all aspects of our business. Adhering to sustainable practices that are environmentally sound, economically feasible and socially equitable, we educate and inspire others to conserve and preserve. E. & J. Gallo Winery is proud to be an industry leader in sustainable wine growing.

Diversity & Inclusion

Sharing our differences and building on our similarities helps us think creatively, collaborate effectively and take pride in our accomplishments. Our internal Employee Resource Groups help us accomplish this by providing opportunities for professional development, networking, outreach and cultural enrichment.

Valuing our differences and creating a family culture

At E. & J. Gallo Winery, we are committed to fostering an environment where all dimensions of diversity are valued. Inclusion creates an environment where we are free to share our unique perspectives and be our authentic selves, encouraging collaboration and driving innovation.

Latino Association for Career Advancement & Social Advocacy (LA CASA)

LA CASA is committed to helping Gallo be the preferred home for Latinos and drive Gallo success by fostering an environment that empowers Latinos to develop, influence, and build cultural awareness across the organization.

Women of Wine

An organization whose purpose is to develop women at Gallo by providing a forum that allows for strategic collaboration between cross-functional departments. Women of Wine values positive relationships that can be fostered through sharing a common goal of striving for success.

Gallo Veterans Organization

The Gallo Veterans Organization supports veterans and those on active duty with a focus on networking within the E. & J. Gallo Winery organization. Open to all interested Gallo employees, regardless of veteran status, the group values camaraderie and serves as an advocate for veteran affairs.

As a family-owned winery, it is a priority to us that future generations can experience the natural resources we enjoy today. In fact, our commitment to the environment began in the 1930s when co-founders Ernest and Julio Gallo introduced an innovative approach to land conservation in the North Coast known as the “50/50 Give Back” plan. For every acre of land planted in vineyard, one acre of property was set aside for wildlife habitat — a practice that continues today in the North Coast. We also proudly support the American Farmland Trust in their efforts to help protect our nation’s farm and ranch land, promote environmentally sound farming practices, and improve the economic viability of agriculture.

Dry Creek Building

The Dry Creek Building brings together key business partners in a common location and is designed to help drive collaboration and innovation. E. & J. Gallo Winery believes in the importance of preserving and enhancing the land for future generations and wanted the Dry Creek Building to be classic, timeless, and of the earth. The Dry Creek Building was completed in 2016, and achieved LEED® Gold status by the U.S. Green Building Council.

“We are honored that our new Dry Creek Building has received this prestigious recognition. The Dry Creek Building embodies our company’s long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility, and our desire to provide a collaborative and best in class workspace for our employees,” said Joseph E. Gallo, Chief Executive Officer and President of E. & J. Gallo Winery.”

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Certifications

Gallo was the first winery in the United States to receive the ISO 14001 certification. Created to assist companies throughout the world to reduce their impacts on the environment, our winemaking facilities and related businesses have been certified to be in conformance with these rigorous standards. These standards are incorporated in an environmental management system (EMS) developed by Gallo, which guides all processes at our wineries and spirits facilities throughout California and Washington. The EMS translates Gallo environmental policy into action at every staff level and encourages similar efforts with our suppliers and trading partners.

Energy / Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Our commitment to energy efficiency has resulted in significant savings in energy use. Since 2015, we have saved more than 11 million kilowatt hours in electricity.

Environmental / Sustainability Management Program

Responsibility for the stewardship of our planet is a growing challenge — it's one we work hard to champion.

Water Stewardship

At Gallo, water stewardship is critical to our long-term business growth and has always been a top priority for our company.

Our Commitment

Commitment is not just one of our company values; it's how we conduct our business day in and day out. We strive to create quality products that consumers value and trust, and take conscious steps to preserve and enhance the environment for future generations. We are committed to the communities where we live and work and believe that by acting in a socially responsible manner, we allow for our people and our planet to prosper.
